The injuries clearly affected Hotspurs' offensive efficiency as the team is now stripped of Son Heung-Min who suffers from a broken arm. Harry Kane also had left the squad earlier this season because of a long-term injury ending mostly his season. However, the German side has proven his improving abilities.
A masterclass from the Frenchman Hugo Lloris has come to the rescue for the hosts until Timo Werner silences the crowd with a penalty at the 58th minute of the game. He is having a healthy scoring season as he has already secured 20 Bundesilga goals this season.
Despite his amazing performance tonight, Lloris was powerless to deny Timo's concise shot from the spot after Tottenham's Davies had fouled Laimer inside the box. However, he was very crucial, especially with his mind-blowing save against Patrik Schick.

Spurs didn't lack much threat after the break as they started forging their own chances. But the Leipzig keeper denied Lo-Celso's freekick at the post and Lucas Moura wided a header from very close range.
In fact, the big question is How will Mourinho get Tottenham qualified to the next round while he has no lethal players who can carry the team under pure pressure.
It will certainly be very hard for him, but this team has proved to the whole world that anything is possible during their historical matchup with Ajax Amsterdam. So making it to the UCL's quarter-final will be considered as a great achievement for the Portuguese Jose who lacks resources.
The second leg will be played on March 10th and the game is expected to provide the football world a lot of entertainment and enthusiasm.
