A total
dominance from Liverpool couldn’t convert any of the chances into goals. Shrews’
Whalley thought he had put Shrewbury ahead after heading into an empty net on a
rebound which was, fortunately –somehow- ruled out by the VAR.
The young Liverpool squad surprised everyone and left Anfield with a memorable
victory as Shrewsbury defender Ro-Shaun Williams inadvertently steered the ball with a header past his own net to give the hosts a valuable qualification.
